18 I Welcome to Thaksin University Visa Extension Once the Immigration Bureau approves your entrance into Thailand, your passport will be stamped with the conditions of entry, and the Immigration Bureau will issue the duration of your stay in the Kingdom of Thailand. The last date issued by the officer at the checkpoint may not cover your study period at Thaksin University, therefore, you must apply for visa extension at the Thai Immigration Bureau before the last date engraved on the immigration stamp. Important Notes: • Application is only accepted within the period of 45 days prior to the expiry date of the current visa (with some exception upon consultation with the Immigration officer). • A fine of 500 THB per day will be applied to those who overstay in the Kingdom of Thailand with certain penalties.
