34 I Welcome to Thaksin University This vision was rooted in the belief that music, melody, and the arts can refine the mind and elevate the aesthetic sensibilities of youth and people in the southern region of Thailand. Thaksin University embraced this initiative and collaborated with both public and private sector partners to bring the project to completion in 2019 (B.E. 2562). The result is a beautiful public landmark named “Prem Auditorium”—a venue dedicated to musical and performing arts presentations under a new dimension and concept of music. Beyond serving as a place of entertainment, it also promotes the use of music as a tool for social development. “Prem Auditorium” therefore stands as a symbol of virtue and cultural refinement of the nation, and represents a new mark of civilization for the southern community.
